Short-Term Trip to Belize
Country Overview
Belize is a small, vibrant country on the Caribbean coast of Central America, known for its warm people, lush jungles, and relaxed island pace. Life in Belize moves a little slower—communities are close‑knit, culture is rich, and daily rhythms blend English, Creole, and Mayan influences. Many families live with limited resources, especially in rural areas, yet there’s a deep sense of resilience, hospitality, and joy woven into everyday life.
Ministry Overview
Our work in Belize takes place in Belmopan, the nation’s capital, where we partner with Trades4Life—a ministry that introduces students to employable trades while helping them develop practical life skills and grow in their walk with Jesus. Students at Trades4Life receive hands‑on training in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, welding, and more. While we’re there, our team focuses on serving the Trades4Life campus itself: painting, cleaning, remodeling, and tackling whatever projects are needed to support their mission.
We also partner with missionaries Kent and Marion Fuller, who run a year‑round lunch program for local children. In Belize, students go home for lunch, which can place a financial strain on families. This program provides a nutritious meal every school day and gives children the opportunity to hear a Bible lesson, offering both physical nourishment and spiritual encouragement.
Trip Details
The Belize trip is a 10‑day experience. We intentionally keep our team size to around 12 people to ensure meaningful service and a strong community. Our next team will travel January 7–16, 2027. The cost of the trip (excluding airfare) is $1,600 per person for single occupancy and $1,400 for double occupancy. Families—please ask about additional discounts. This price covers all in‑country travel, meals, construction project supplies, mission‑trip travel insurance, and our local experience days. You’ll be responsible only for meals during travel days, snacks, and souvenirs.
Accommodations:
We’ll spend most of our time in Belmopan, Belize's capital, staying at KenMar Bed and Breakfast, owned by the missionaries we partner with. It’s a safe, welcoming place that feels like home during our time of serving.
